One fine afternoon after practicum, it hit me: my time at CSPP campus is coming to a close. My
creativity sparked at the time; a poem in my head started to form with a rhyme. What follows is what
came out on the page, an Ode to Alliant before I embark on my next stage.
Dear Alliant,
My time with you has been wondrous and great
All the classes and books and Letty's lunches I ate.
The teachers that made the subjects so cool
Stats, Obs. Int., and Ethics, you rule!
Staying up late for our lit review
Our chairs and loved ones supported us through.
Assessment classes we couldn't ignore
The Rorschach responses we learned to score.
And they wouldn't call it Alliant International University
If they didn't teach you all about diversity.
In the marvelous library where we studied so hard
We paid 10 cents a copy with our ID card.
What a location! Across from Pier 39
The sea lions, shows, and places to dine.
And to all the wonderful students I met,
I know someday you will get out of debt.
With countless hours of practicum gone,
Our supervisors told us we did it all wrong,
We learned to be empathetic and kind
To help those in need and heal their mind.
Goodbye Alliant and CSPP,
You will be missed by the one and truly me.
