Ashley Forrest, Co-Chair
Ashley is a moderated G2 in the PsyD program at CSPP. Her research interests include children and anxiety. In her limited free time, Ashley enjoys yoga, tap dancing, knitting, and general crafting. Ashley's goal is for SGA to be an organized and united group that allows people to feel free to be themselves while creating fantastic events and opportunities for the greater student body. She is excited to be serving as your co-chair for the 2011-2012 year!
Rexford Bloxsom-Carter, Co-Chair
Rexford Bloxsom-Carter is a third year PsyD student and a Tauber fellow here at CSPP. He served on SGA last year as the PsyD G2 rep and is really excited about representing the whole of SGA as one of the co-chairs. Last year he started the kitchen committee and worked to completely change the look of the student kitchen. This year SGA is offering free biodegradable cups, an assortment of teas, instant coffee, and hot cocoa as a complementary service for students. This is brand new this year and something that many students appreciate. Keep a look out for future social events and hope to see everyone at the upcoming SGA Winter Event.
Jackie Lambe, Communications Coordinator
Jackie is a 3rd year PsyD student with an emphasis in Gender Studies who likes good conversation, expensive dinners, and long walks on the beach (but only when the weather is nice). Her dissertation research is on bisexuality/biphobia and she is an executive committee member for the Rockway Queer Alliance. For SGA, she is the Communications Coordinator (AKA fancier-sounding version of "SGA Secretary"). Her job is to keep the minutes of all meetings and meeting agendas and she conducts the general correspondence. If you need to contact an SGA representative, shoot Jackie an email at sfstudentgov@gmail.com and she will make sure it gets to the right people.
Tarek Kronfli, Treasurer
Hello Alliant SF... Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tarek and yes, I am your Treasurer. I am currently a G3 in the Clinical PsyD Program and am very excited about my first year as part of SGA. I have been asked why I would ever choose to be a part of SGA during my last year of school. That just seems silly, no? It wasn't because I wanted to beef up my CV or because I wanted to be in a position of power. The truth is two-fold. First, I genuinely want to make a difference, and what better way to start than within my own Alliant-SF community? Second, I believe that a "strong" student is not just one that goes to class, earns A's, and goes home; rather, it is one that chases opportunities for professional growth outside of school. Thus, my hope as Treasurer is to help encourage students to attend local and/or national conventions, trainings, and workshops by offering monetary compensation in the form of SGA scholarships. My psychology-related interests are mainly in health psychology, specifically pain management. I also enjoy involving myself in some good ole fashioned research and number crunching. Outside of SGA, tutoring, TA- ing, practicum, and whatever else it is that I do, I like to spend my free time finding hole-in-the-wall eateries, exploring the many local breweries, hanging with friends, and working out. I recently have fallen in love with running and find it great for school-related stress. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish my goals as Treasurer this year and use my position to contribute in a positive manner. Well, that is enough of me....TK out
